Jason Towe: Life Since The Way Doc, Fostering 30 Children & Advice for Torah Newbies

January 27, 2026

Jason Towe was the protagonist in the documentary The Way, which we made in 2016. In that film he tells his life story of coming from a long line of Baptist ministers and the massive backlash he and his wife Amanda received when they stopped eating unclean meats and started worshiping on the seventh-day Sabbath. (In the intro I mistakenly say Jason's dad was a minister. He was not; it was Jason's great grandfather and grandfather.) In this episode, Jason shares how he and I met and what's happened since then, including lessons he had to learn the hard way about sharing Torah with others and starting a fellowship.

Since that time he's become the head pastor of Pursuing Truth Ministries. He'll talk to us about going to seminary after coming into Torah, fostering more than 30 children and encountering every weird, wild and awesome thing in the "Hebrew Roots" movement. And he has good advice for anyone new to Torah.
