How to Make a Living on a Self-Sufficient Homestead (as a family!) - Al & Helen Arends
Al and Helen Arends run a homestead in Minnesota where they raise grass-fed beef cattle, host feast days and run a mobile wood-fired pizza catering company. As a homeschooling family with 8 kids, the Arends are passionate about the lessons kids learn on the farm. They've run numerous home businesses together from the homestead, from selling organic produce through the local CSA to running a bakery from their home kitchen, baking 120 loaves of bread per night. They ran a brick and mortar coffee shop and now own a mobile pizza oven business. The couple talks about meeting in Russia (Helen's home country), finding Torah and the highs and lows of making a living on a self-sufficient, Torah observant homestead.
