We Were Broke, Broken & Addicted, Then EVERYTHING Changed - Derrick & Misty's Story
Derrick and Misty Pafford both endured abusive upbringings and battled addictions that began when they were young. As young adults, they spiraled through cycles of addiction, downfalls and repentance, only to fall into the same struggles again—even while attending church and participating in ministry.
Derrick cooked meth, robbed his grandparents and landed in prison, all after his come-to-Jesus moment. His story reveals how discipleship is missing in many churches and is the key to helping believers stay on the straight and narrow path. Without it, we have salvation experience without the guidance of how to proceed as followers of Yeshua. Total surrender to God and a lifestyle change, guided by mentors grounded in Torah, will straighten the paths of the most broken.
In today's episode, the couple describes the breaking points that changed each of their lives for good and how living out the whole Word has brought freedom, abundance and community that they never could have imagined. Finally, they share their advice for anyone struggling with an addiction or persistent sin, and for those who have friends and loved ones in that situation.
