Breaking Generational Curses: How Torah Obedience Broke a Cycle of Divorce and Fatherlessness | Matt Cook (Sabbath Lounge)

November 05, 2026

Matt Cook grew up in west Texas with a hard-drinking, roving oil-field-working father and moved 27 times by the time he was 21, living in RV's and trailer parks. His parents divorced when Matt was five and he lived with his mother who went through relationship after relationship until her story ended in tragedy.

Matt moved in with his grandparents, who were pillars of faith. Their unwavering support and strong values helped him navigate his early anger and confusion. His grandmother told him, "Matt, you need to pray for a godly dad every day."

Hear how Yah answered that prayer.
